Four activities

Rules and scoring

We will divide into three teams. Each activity is worth up to 15 points, for a maximum total of 60 points per team.

01

Silent Line-Up Challenge

Each team must arrange themselves in the correct order without speaking.

How it works

We will use three rounds, such as birthday month, height and approximate travel time to the park. When a team is ready, they raise their hands and the order is checked.

Scoring

Each round: 1st place 5 points, 2nd place 3 points, 3rd place 2 points. Maximum: 15 points.

02

Count to 20 Challenge

Team members count from 1 to 20, but there is no fixed speaking order.

How it works

Anyone can say the next number. If two people speak at the same time, a number is repeated or the order is wrong, the team starts again. Teams complete three timed rounds.

Scoring

Fastest team in each round gets 5 points, followed by 3 points and 2 points. Maximum: 15 points.

03

Trillium Park Photo Challenge

Teams complete five simple photo tasks within the park boundary.

How it works

Possible tasks include a lake or skyline photo, a team photo by a park sign, a shadow or reflection photo, a forced-perspective photo and a creative research-team photo. Everyone should appear where possible.

Scoring

Each completed and accepted photo is worth 3 points. Five photos × 3 points = 15 points.

04

Paper Airplane Target Challenge

Each team folds a paper airplane and aims for marked target zones.

How it works

Every team uses the same paper and throws from the same line. Each team gets three scored throws. We will use accuracy rather than distance and skip this activity if it is too windy.

Scoring

Target zones are worth 5, 3 or 1 point; a miss is 0. Three throws, maximum: 15 points.

Tie-breaker

Each tied team silently estimates 30 seconds without using a phone or watch. The team closest to 30 seconds wins.

The games begin after lunch. We can take breaks whenever needed, change the order or skip the paper airplane activity if the wind is too strong.
